Shirley Dixon Strong

Memorial service for Mrs. Shirley Dixon Strong will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas Strong, Rev. Billie Friel, and Bro. Darrin Reynolds officiating.  Visitation Saturday 12 Noon until service.

Mrs. Strong, age 86 of Lebanon passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Pavilion.

Born January 20, 1938, in Arlington, Kentucky, she is the daughter of the late David N. and Shirley Josephine Hudson Dixon.  She worked in food service for Tennessee Baptist at the Linden Valley Camp for over twenty years.  After retirement in 2000, she worked in missions and volunteered at the Lebanon Senior Citizens Center.  She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Strong; and a brother, Cleveland Dixon.

She is survived by two children: Melodie (Jeff) Collier of Lebanon and Dr. Thomas (Jana) Strong of New Orleans, LA; four grandchildren: Luke Collier, Andrew (Brittany) Collier, Kathryn Strong (Andrew) Burns, and Nathan (Taylor) Strong; great grandchildren: Kennedy, Jack & Madeline Collier, Audrey & Brooks Burns; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and friends at the Pavilion.

Memorials may be made to the Lebanon Senior Citizens Center.
