Sandra Lee Smith Brown

Mrs. Sandra Lee Smith Brown, age 75 of Gladeville, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at her home. Born February 18, 1948 in Nashville, she is the daughter of the late William Neal Smith and Charlotte Elizabeth Dorris Smith. She married Michael Wayne Brown September 18, 1964. The couple shared many happy times as husband and wife until Mr. Brown’s passing on July 28, 2018. Mrs. Sandra was a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family and household. She loved children, and later in life became the director of “Kid’s Club” at the Gladeville Elementary School. She was also a devoted member of the Gladeville Church of Christ. In addition to her parents and her spouse, she is preceded in death by her sister, Jean Sharpe and a nephew, Chris Sharp.

She is survived by her children; Tammie (Steven) Shook of Lebanon, Gary Brown of Watertown, and Billy (Holly) Brown of Gladeville; grandchildren, Amanda (Wayne) Hedrick, Jessica (Adam) West, Steven (Natasha) Shook, Collin Brown, Charles (Amber) Brown, Kayleigh Susalla, Wyatt Brown, and Ciara Brown; five great-grandchildren; brother, James (“Honey”) Smith; sisters, Frances Bond and Sue Bell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Dr. Jonathan Richerson officiating. Interment will follow in the Caraway Cemetery in Gladeville. Her family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M.and again on Saturday after 10:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gladeville Church of Christ Missions Fund (1435 Gladeville Rd, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).

Pallbearers: Charles Brown, Wyatt Brown, Steven Shook, Adam West, Travis Journell, and Greg Ferrell.
