Ruth Winfree Minchey
Mrs. Ruth Winfree Minchey age 88 of Lebanon, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away April 15, 2016. Born July 12, 1927, in the Long Branch Community of DeKalb County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Mae Winard Winfree. She worked at Rose’s Dime Store and the Lebanon Garment Factory before retiring from Precision Rubber. She was passionate about her family, cooking and attending church. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Pat Fossler Sunday School Class. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty- eight years Earnest Carl Minchey; sister, Athalene Barnes; five brothers: Nelson, Auburn, Jamie, Jewell and Buren Winfree; grandson, Michael Sidney Dalton Dedman.
Survived by daughter, Carla (Mike) Dedman; four grandchildren: Matt (Tracey) Dedman, Melanie Dedman, Maegan (Anthony) O’Neal, Minchey Dedman; two great-grandchildren: Zach and Aiden Dedman; two brothers: Jack (Margie) Winfree, and H.L. Winfree.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Pastor John Hunn officiating. Interment – Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers: Johnny, Mike and Matt Dedman, Anthony O’Neal, Jeffrey Scott, Bruce and Mark Winfree. Honorary Pallbearers: Jack and H.L. Winfree, Pat Fossler Sunday School Class. Special Thanks to Vanderbilt Geriatric and Palliative Care. Visitation Monday 1-7 p.m. and Tuesday 12 Noon – 3 p.m.
