Ronnie “Papa” Wrye

Mr. Ronnie “Papa” Wrye age 73 of Lebanon passed away December 30, 2025, at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.  Born in Wilson County, TN, December 25, 1952, he was the son of the late Robert Jefferson Wrye and Leota Montgomery Wrye.  He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.  He was the owner and operator of Wrye’s Welding for forty years.  Ronnie was a lover of antique cars.  He enjoyed attending car shows and showing his own 1966 GT350 Mustang. His car won “Best in Show” in the fall of 2025.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Judy Hampton Wrye; three children: Ronald Scott (Kim) Wrye, Patti (Joey) Clark, Jeffrey Wrye; four grandchildren:  Maddie (Caleb) Skaggs, Macy (Kolton) Crump, Nathan and Allie Clark; two great-grandchildren: Beckam Skaggs and Leo Clark; two brothers: Gerald (Joyce) Wrye, Mark (Debbie) Wrye; sister, Patricia Cochran; and fur baby, his dog Lady.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, 2026, at 1 p.m. from the Immanuel Baptist Church, 214 Castle Heights Ave., Lebanon, with Pastor Jeff Pratt officiating.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation Sunday 1-6 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and Monday after 11 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Young Adult ministry of Immanuel Baptist Church. Checks may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church – note YA ministries on the memo line.
