Rev. Billy L. Trice
Rev. Billy L. Trice age 85 of Lebanon passed away March 18, 2019. A native of Wilson County, he was the only son of four children born to the late Roy and Mary Lou Bradley Trice. He was a 1952 graduate of Lebanon High School where he played football. A life-long farmer, he was a school bus driver for Wilson County and Lebanon Special District Schools for thirty-eight years. He was an ordained Southern Baptist Minister having pastored three churches in Wilson County: Linwood, seven and one half years; Fall Creek, twenty-seven and one half years; and interim at Southside one year. He was a member of Barton’s Creek Baptist Church. He was a past director of Wilson County Farm Bureau and served on the Wilson County Commission during the 1960’s when the vote was taken to build a new Wilson County Court House on East Main Street.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, former Wilson County Register of Deeds, Margie Lea Trice; three sons: Terry (Vicky) Trice, Tommy (Rachel) Trice, Tony (Deanna) Trice; eight grandchildren: Ginger (Andy) Rowsey, Brad (Natalie) Trice, Beth (Jason) Bradshaw, Brandy (Brad) Hardin, Holly (Joey) Glisson, Amy Trice, Drake (Shelby) Trice, Drew Trice; seven great-grandchildren: Leura and Eppie Rowsey, Tinsley Hardin, Brett, Ben and Brooks Trice, Lee Bradshaw; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Katherine Hicks, Edna Reed, Sue Comer.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 22, 2019, at 11 a.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Price, Rev. Charles McKnight and Rev. Jason Harlin officiating. Interment – Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Visitation Thursday 2-8 p.m. and Friday after 10 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
