Philip M. Girton

A gathering of family and friends of Philip M. Girton will be on Saturday September 9, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon at which time there will be an opportunity for sharing memories at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon.

Mr. Girton, age 54 of Hartsville, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at his home.

Born April 27, 1969, in Bellevue, Ohio, he is the son of the late Donald A. and Elizabeth File Girton.  The last several years, he had worked in garage door repair.  He was a member of Fairview Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Girton.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Clift Girton; daughter, Maril Alyssa Girton (Kristofer A. Hill); sister, Judith (Bill) Crocker; brother, Daniel (Lynne) Girton; mother in law, Brenda C. Tune; sister in law, Maggie (A.J.) Bahou; and several nieces and nephews.

    The few times I got to meet Phil; he wound up surprising me. He seemed so quiet and reserved. Then bam! He hits you with a joke or a witty comment. His bright light will be missed. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with Mary and Maril and the rest of the family. I am so sorry for your loss. Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
