Pauline Northern Harper

Funeral services for Mrs. Pauline Northern Harper will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Bingham officiating. Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation Friday 3–8 PM and Saturday after 11 AM at Ligon & Bobo.

Mrs. Harper, age 86 of Lebanon passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Born May 29, 1931, in Wilson County, she is the daughter of the late William Byrd and Bernie Mai Burton Northern. She worked for many years at Sanders Manufacturing and was a member of West Hills Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty one years, Rufus C. Harper on July 19, 2012; two sisters, Virginia Bechman and Martha Davis; and a brother, E. H. Northern.

She is survived by three children: Linda (Carl) Melvin, William (Linda) Harper and Melvin (Shelley) Harper; eight grandchildren: Carla (Bruce) Taub, Kelly Melvin, Matt Melvin, Scott (Abbie) Harper Colin (Ashley) Brady, Jessica MacDonald, Ryan (Lorena) MacDonald, and Jilli MacDonald; great grandchildren: Kelsey Anderson, Bradey Taub, Rufus & Azalea Harper, Jordan, Jessica, Taryn & Teagan Brady, Dallas Smith, George MacDonald; special friend, Shirley Tramel.

Pallbearers: Matt Melvin, Scott Harper, Bruce Taub, Colin Brady, Chris Stockton, and Jamie Luffman
