MABLE MOFIELDFuneral services for Mrs. Mable Wrye Mofield will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2014, at Fairview Church.  Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.  Visitation Sunday 2-6 PM at Ligon & Bobo and Monday after 10 AM at Fairview Church.

Mrs. Mofield, age 80 of Lebanon passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Quality Care.

Born October 10, 1934, in Wilson County, she is the daughter of the late Zearl Booker Wrye and Willie Esther Watkins Wrye.  She retired from American General Life Insurance Company, and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, David Payne Mofield Sr. on April 17, 1996.

She is survived by two sons, David Payne (Teresa) Mofield Jr. of Alexandria and Michael Wayne Mofield of Lebanon; and two grandchildren, Rachel and Mariah Mofield.

    Aunt Mable will always hold a special place in my heart. She was a hard working Christian lady who lived her life with grace and dignity. I imagine her in heaven with my Mama, Papa, Uncle D.P. and so many other loved ones. May she rest in Peace until we ALL meet again.

    Ms. Mable along with Jewel Beal carpooled with my parents for years. We were the recipients of her generosity and enjoyed hearing about glimpses of her family’s lives. David and Michael, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. May the peace of the season be with you as you reflect on all the good times with her.

    I worked with your mother 30+ years ago at National Life and have such fond memories of her. She was so proud of you boys and it was evident that she loved you so much. My heartfelt sympathy to you and your families during this time of loss.
