Lindy Cowan

Funeral services for Mr. Lindy Cowan, age 62 of Lebanon, will be held on Tuesday October 10, 2023 at 11:00AM from Calvary Baptist Church (1702 Sparta Pike, Lebanon). Bro. Terry Carver will officiate and interment will follow in the Barton’s Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday October 9, 2023 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, and again on Tuesday after 10:00AM at Calvary Baptist Church.  Pallbearers will be: Steve Martin, Michael Vaughn, Steve Carr, Clay Sanders, Ralph Bean, and Randy Ferebee.

Mr. Cowan was born September 26, 1961 in Wilson County to Mr. Alvin C. Cowan and Mrs. Arlice Lanier Sanford. He passed away on Saturday morning October 7, 2023 at his home. After graduating from Lebanon High School, Lindy went to work for Toshiba Co. and eventually became a supervisor for the company. He worked for Toshiba until the factory closed its doors. He was an avid Alabama football fan and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Lindy was preceded in death by infant brother, Michael Alvin Cowan; brother, Mike Foster; and sister, Michelle Steverson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ana Duart Cowan; mother and step-father, Arlice (Billy Joe) Sanford; father and step-mother, Alvin (Clara) Cowan; daughters, Amanda Blythe and Ashley Fisher; brothers, Steve (Sheryl) Martin of Louisville, TN, and Douglas (Sandra) Sanford of Forest, MS; sisters, Vickie (Michael) Vaughn and Judy Goodall; special “fur baby”, Samantha; eight grandchildren and a host of extended family also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or to Sherry’s Hope.

    Lindy Cowan was my supervisor at Toshiba several times on both days and night shift, during the 10 years I worked there

    He will be miss in the community

    I can remember back in the days his father used to own the Cowan’s Store right there on the end off from the square
