LeRoy Granstaff
LeRoy Granstaff age 78 of Lebanon passed from this life in the comfort of his home Sunday May 31, 2015, at 9 p.m. surrounded by his family. Born in the Sykes Community of Smith County, he was the son of the late William Howard Granstaff and Thelma Lee Lawrence Granstaff. He was a member of Rocky Valley Baptist Church. He retired from Ford Glass Plant in Nashville where he worked thirty-eight and a half years. He enjoyed his retirement with his favorite past time of playing with his grandchildren and love for bluegrass music. He could spend hours listening to music and enjoyed picking with his friends. In addition to his parents LeRoy was preceded in death by his step-mother, Sarah Alene Granstaff; son, Rickie Lee Granstaff.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Deloris Singleton Granstaff; two sons: Montie Wayne (Beverly) Granstaff, Gary Daniel (Gina) Granstaff; five grandchildren: Seth (Mickaela) Granstaff, Caleb, Benjamin, Cheyenne Danielle, and Hunter Layne Granstaff; four sisters: Nina Sue (Fred) Smith, Janice Granstaff, Rose (Danny) Walls, Trena (Michael) Drennon; three brothers: Jerry (Clara) Granstaff, Charles “Bub” Granstaff, Bo (Lisa) Granstaff.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at 3 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Eld. Garry Drennon and Val Kelly officiating. Interment – Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers: Mike Hearn, Clint, Brett, David, Matthew, Justin, Jared Granstaff, Ricky Walls, Martin Cunningham, Nathan Drennon. Honorary pallbearers: Cheyenne, Seth, Caleb, Hunter and Ben Granstaff. Visitation Tuesday 2-8 p.m. and Wednesday after 12 Noon at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.
