Jean Gray Kolbe

Mrs. Jean Gray Kolbe age 87 of Lebanon passed away April 6, 2024, at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.  She was born in Selmer, TN, January 25, 1937, daughter of the late Robert and Vallie Clifton Gray.  She was a homemaker and faithful member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

She had the gifts of mercy and giving.  She loved to comfort people through words and cards of encouragement. This was her ministry.  She also loved music and loved to sing in her church choir for many years.  She loved hymns and singing praises to the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Lewis; brother, Maynard Gray.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Jim Kolbe; three children:  Gina (Sammy) Patton, Brenda (Derrell) Reese, Jimmy (Janice) Kolbe; five grandchildren:  Amanda (Travis) Peach, Denise (Donnie) Christian, Tyler (Natalie) Reese, Brandon (Gina) Patton, Hanna Reese; nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 2 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Patton, Bro. Terry Fesler and Bro. Jacob Lannom officiating.  Interment – Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers:  Isaac, Samuel and Travis Peach, Tyler Reese, Nathan Kolbe, Randy Hulse.  Honorary Pallbearer:  Albert Buehler.

Visitation Tuesday 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday 12 Noon- 2 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
