  5. Cathy Pendley says:
Janet was the very first friend I made when I started Hixson my freshman year. I was coming from a “rival” school at that time and I was so afraid because I knew no one. I don’t remember the exact time Janet came up to me, but I certainly
remember that smile! I had a friend from then on.
We went off to college at MTSU together, but rarely saw each other after that first week.
That week we went to breakfast together every morning. But, we weren’t in the same dorm and our schedules didn’t line up.
There was never a better friend to have.
How she loved her girls, and adored being Mimi.
I ‘m sorry I have gone on so long, but I have been shaken to
the core over losing her. She was the BEST!!
I love you Jenny and Devon. I plan on seeing you at visitation.

  14. Doris Masterson Jenkins says:
Your mom never met a stranger. She easily embraced everyone around her. Everyone loved her, that is evident in the more than 300 FB comments. Your mom had a lot of living left to do, traveling, family gatherings and being with her friends. I’m thankful for my time with your mom in Israel. We laughed till we cried at each other and with each other! Israel in itself was an amazing trip but I wouldn’t have wanted to do it any other way than with her. I’ll miss her deeply but I know where she is and she’ll meet us all when we get there! She loved you girls and those grandchildren with all she had. Blessings on you as you lay her to rest. We’ll be thinking of all of you. (BTW I also went to Hixson High with her)
