Hazel Johnson Vanhook

Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Johnson Vanhook will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Bennett officiating.  Interment will follow at Leeville Cemetery.  Visitation Friday 4-7 PM and Saturday after 11 A.M. at Ligon & Bobo.

Mrs. Vanhook, age 92 of Lebanon passed away April 6, 2022, at her home.

Born August 25, 1929, in Dowelltown, she is the daughter of the late James Hubert Johnson and Vada Mabel Atkins Vanhook.  She was a nurse having worked for McFarland Hospital, Dr. Leathers, and retiring from Quality Care.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Clayton Vanhook in 1979; stillborn son, Jerry Clayton Vanhook Jr., brother, Hugh Johnson, and three sisters, Nelda Agee, Ruby Smithson, and Josie Harris.

She is survived by three children: Cecelia Malone, Carol (Johnny) Fisher, and Tim Vanhook; three grandchildren: Diane Steelman, Angela (Richard) Bush, and John (Kelli) Malone;  great grandchildren, Heather McDade, Hannah Martin, Samantha & Ethan Bush, and Jacob Malone;  great great grandchildren: Michael Harden and Dawson Kells Martin.
