Grady S. Bennett

Graveside service for Mr. Grady S. Bennett will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Wilson County Memorial Gardens with Todd Elliott officiating.

Mr. Bennett, age 90 of Lebanon passed away peacefully April 13, 2024, at Wilson Manor with his family by his side.

Born September 29, 1933, in Macon County, he is the son of the late Webster and Eunice Linville Bennett.  He was a 1952 graduate of Lebanon High School and served in the Tennessee National Guard for nine years.  He worked for Robertshaw LUX Time for thirty five years, and then on to sell real estate with J. T. Harvey for seventeen years.  He was a very active member of the Lebanon Jaycees for many years.  He was a gentleman and always a friend to all.  He loved music and played bass in two bands.  He received his commercial pilot’s license, and loved flying planes out of the Lebanon Airport.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty seven years, Evalena Castleman Bennett on October 21, 2017; sister, Omadell Bennett; and five brothers, Floyd, Comer, Carl, Upton and Bob Bennett.

He is survived by brother in law, Ron (Diane) Castleman; sisters in law, Janice Copley, Bettye (Allen) Mason, and Hazel Bennett; nieces, Gayle Bennett, Kathy Bennett, Betty Ford, Renee Castleman, Sonia Castleman, Cherie Gray, Leanne Copley, Kristen Day, and Sara Hjelm; nephews, Joe Bennett, Mase Mason, Dwayne Copley, Andrew Copley, and Joe Castleman.
