Dolores Ligon Spickard
Mrs. Dolores Ligon Spickard, age 82 of Lebanon, passed away peacefully at her home on July 15, 2016. She was born October 21, 1933 in Wilson County to the Late Mack Richard Ligon, Sr. and Fannie Louise Davis Ligon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 26 years Andrew Jackson “Jack” Spickard, III; brothers, Mack Richard Ligon, Jr., Dean Huffman Ligon, and Wendell N. Ligon.
Mrs. Spickard was raised in Barton’s Creek Baptist Church and then united with Gladeville Methodist Church. In her later years she became a member of the Westland United Methodist Church in Lebanon. She was a lady of many talents and worked in numerous places of business including the Lebanon Woolen Mill, Texas Boot Co., and Precision Rubber before retiring from Campbell Hausfeld Co. Mrs. Dolores loved the theater and once performed in “Cocktails for Mimi” at the Chapel Playhouse in Lebanon, as well as, donning a costume as a clown from time to time.
She is survived by three children; Terilyn Spickard Ford, Andy (Alice) Spickard, and Key Spickard McKinney (Sam), grandchildren; Hugh (Christy) Britt, Christina (Terry) Jones, Bubba (Erin) Spickard, Callie and Corey McKinney, great-grandchildren; Perrie Grace Jones and Drew Spickard, siblings; Benton E. (Ernesteen) Ligon , Glenda Ligon Miller, Wilma Ligon Lancina (Roger), sisters-in-law; Betty Wright Ligon and Beverly Goad Ligon.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday July 17, 2016 at 2PM from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. Callie and Corey McKinney will officiate and interment will follow in Barton’s Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4PM until 8PM and again on Sunday after 12Noon.
