Christine Vaden Brown
Mrs. Christine Vaden Brown age 83 of Springfield passed away February 29, 2024, at St. Thomas West Hospital. Born in the Elmwood Community of Smith County, July 30, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Herman Vaden and Susie Woodard Vaden. She was a 1959 graduate of Springfield High School and Valla Business College. She was a real estate broker most of her working career and retired as executive secretary at Nationwide Insurance. She was a member of South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Howard Brown, March 2, 2019; sister, Bettye Sue Hilton; brother, Thomas Lee Vaden.
She is survived by two children: Tina (Frank) Schnitzler of White House, Kirby Joe (Felicia) Brown of Donelson; grandson, Michael Owen Brown of Florida; sister-in-law, Wanda Vaden of Greenbrier.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield with Dr. David Blazer officiating. Interment – Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers: David Diaz, Josh Dickinson, Sam Smith, James Sawyers, Johnny Norton, Mitchell Buck, and Bernard Smith. Visitation Monday 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at South Haven Baptist Church.
