Charles (Dickey) Meador

Charles (Dickey) Meador, 82, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at his home in Hermitage, Tn. Charles was born September 8, 1939 to Oder Ray Meador and Angie Lee Shrum Meador in Westmoreland TN, the oldest of seven children.

Charles met his beautiful bride and wife of 37 years, Cecilia Davis Spanganburg, in Nashville, TN.

In 1980’s, Charles began his lifelong career in real-estate, moving to Hermitage, Tennessee with his new bride. Charles and Buddy managed multiply real properties until his retirement in 2020. Apart from managing his real properties, Charles enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to play board and card games, square dance, and shuffle board whenever he had the time.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon.  Visitation Saturday 11:00 A.M. until service at Ligon & Bobo.

He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Davis Meador; four children: Terry Allen Meador, Gary (Tina) Meador, Tonja Reid, and Sonia Kaye Meador; two step children: Michael Glenn Spangenberg and Timothy Allen Spangenberg; four sisters, Geraldine (Ray) Taylor, Nancy (Don) Hopkins, Barbara Moniz, and Judy (Rodney) Carter; two brothers, Larry Ray (Monica) Meador and Jerry (Jean) Meador; grandchildren: Brandon Reid, Maryann Reid, Adam Meador, and Bradley Meador; 10 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Homes for Heros or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
