Brenda Joyce Kowal

Mrs. Brenda Joyce Kowal age 76 of Lebanon passed away September 16, 2017, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital. She was born in Wilson County, Tennessee, to the late James Pitts Robinson and Frances Elizabeth Douglas Robinson.  She worked as a patient care tech in a hospital in New Jersey for several years.  She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in Lebanon.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Kowal Sr.; two brothers:  James P. Robinson Jr. and Larry Douglas Robinson.

Survived by five children: Cynthia Tercek, Richard (Deborah) Laverty, Robert (Roseanne) Laverty, Edward (Maryanne) Laverty, Frederick (Jennifer) Kowal Jr.; two sisters:  Elizabeth Foster, Kay (Robert) Vanatta; twenty grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 7 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Rev. Kira Schlesinger officiating. Visitation Tuesday 4-7 p.m.

    I met Brenda and Kay in a cruise and she was a joy to spend time with. We have kept in touch and we were talking about taking another cruise when she was feeling better. She had an awesom personality and I will miss her. Prayers to the family, she will be missed.
