Amy Kathleen Dewaal

Amy Kathleen Dewaal was born on January 27, 1994. She is the daughter of John Dewaal and the late Rebecca Agee Dewaal. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 2012. After high school, Amy earned a computer science degree from Covenant College in 2016. Amy became a software engineer with Skuid & Nintex after graduation, and she made her home in Chattanooga.  She was a member of New City Fellowship where she served on the hospitality team, the Nexus young adult ministry leadership team, and several small groups. Some of Amy’s favorite activities were reading anything and everything, playing Dungeons & Dragons with her Sunday night group, knitting sweaters, creating cute origami animals, traveling, and baking- especially cookies. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, adventures in nature, and tending to her flowers and cats, Kudo and Theo. She was a kind, gentle, peacemaker who brought people together and loved Jesus with all her heart.

She is survived by her father, John (Jan) Dewaal; siblings- John Michael (Rachel) Dewaal, Christopher (Melanie) Dewaal, Paul (Nuanjan) Dewaal, Bryan (Eunice) Dewaal, and Emile (Justin) Thigpen; nieces and nephew- Anna Kate, Joshua, Sarah, and Leah Dewaal; aunts- Ellen Ora Dewaal-van der Ham, and Susan (Larry) West; uncle, Neal (Norma) Agee Jr; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother Rebecca Agee Dewaal and grandparents-  Neal Sr. and Ruth Agee, John and Jane Dewaal.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. cst on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Lebanon, Tennessee, with Pastor David Freeman and Pastor Kevin Smith officiating. Visitation will be held the same day from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the church.
