Alfred Armstrong Adams VI

A private family graveside service for Mr. Alfred Armstrong Adams VI will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Steve Wheeley officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday 4-7 PM at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.  Pallbearers: Will Adams, Stanley Bryan, Tom Clemmons, Jeff Butler, Doug Wallace, David Thorne, and Josh Robey.

Mr. Adams, age 69 of Lebanon passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

A seventh generation Tennessean, Fred was a gentleman farmer who lived on the family’s Century Farm in the Laguardo community of Wilson County.  He was the son of the late Alfred A. Adams V and JoAnne Cook Adams.  He attended Castle Heights Military Academy, Lebanon High School, and Martin Methodist College.  A connoisseur of fine botanicals, Fred loved the outdoors, hiking, and biking, spending time at the lake with family and friends and was a big fan of the University of Tennessee football.

He is survived by his loving wife Jan Adams; his chosen daughter, Carly Davis; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe & Kathy Adams; nephew, Will Adams; niece, Amy Harpalani and their children.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be directed to the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
