Donald Clifford Cantrell

Mr. Donald Clifford Cantrell age 81 of Lebanon passed away July 4, 2025, after battling a variety of health issues including cancer.

Don was born July 30, 1943, in Nashville, Tennessee at the old St. Thomas Hospital.  He was the only child of Clifford and Johnnie Gill Cantrell.  Don grew up in Detroit and St. Claire Shores, Michigan.  He married his loving wife of sixty-years, Gail Wilson, June 19, 1965, in Warren, Michigan.  Together they raised two daughters, Lisa (Ike) Smith of Lawton, OK, and Julie Cantrell of Lebanon, TN.

Don held a variety of sales positions over his career, preferring to be in the community as opposed to being in an office completing desk work.  His favorite role was as a sales representative for Ingram Entertainment, which allowed him to travel to promotional events where he was able to meet some of the stars of movies that he was promoting.  Hobbies over the years included metal detecting, collecting coins and postcards, flea markets and reading science fiction novels.  Don was a founding member of the Middle Tennessee Metal Detectors Club, He was a very kind and empathetic man and very dedicated to his family.

At his request, there will be no funeral. The family will gather at a later date to celebrate his life.

The family would like to thank, for their care and support, Dr Brian Hemphill and staff at Tennessee Oncology, Gentiva Hospice and staff at Quality Care especially Autumn Lawson.

His kindness and generous nature will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
