floyd dixonFuneral services for Mrs. Floyd Lee Edwards Dixon will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Burns officiating.  Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation Tuesday 11:00 AM until service at Ligon & Bobo.

Mrs. Dixon, age 100 years and 6 months of Lebanon passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Pavilion in Lebanon.

Born June 17, 1915, in Beasley’s Bend, Trousdale County, Tennessee, she is the daughter of the late Walter and Omer Shafer Edwards.  She was a homemaker and over the years worked at various places in the Lebanon area.  She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty three years, James Edward “Jack” Dixon on November 5, 1998; her only child, Edward Wayne Dixon on February 12, 2003; brother, J. H. Edwards and two sisters, Willie Mai Tomlinson and Novie Maggart; who passed away one week earlier.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Helga K. Dixon; granddaughters, Sharon (Bobby) Phillips of Fulshear, TX and Evelyn Dickens of Lebanon; grandson, Ricky Dixon of Lebanon; great grandchildren, Autumn Phillips, Lindsey Dixon, Leslie Dixon, Hunter Dixon, Brandon Brewington and Brittany Grisham; 3 great great grandchildren, Sebastian Grisham, Jeremy Pruitte Jr., and Potter Gordon; several nieces and nephews.

On her 100th, she received over 300 birthday cards.  The Pavilion and her family had a party for her with birthday cake and all the trimmings.
