Mrs. Teresa Ruth Bates Wallace, affectionately known as “Reesie” passed away January 8, 2026, at Lebanon Health Care. Born March 18, 1961, in Wilson County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Douglas Shubert Bates and Georgia Watson Bates. She attended Lebanon High School.  She worked several years as manager of David’s Pizza in Lebanon and worked at several Dry-Cleaning businesses, lastly retiring from Kleen Way Cleaners working for the Maynard family.

Reesie lived a life of integrity, compassion and joy.  She touched the lives of many with her kindness, wisdom, and guidance, leaving a profound impact on her family and friends.  A devoted mother, sister, and friend, she always placed the needs of others before her own.  She lived a life of simplicity, finding joy in the little things and cherishing the moments spent with loved ones. Teresa loved shopping, listening to music, and watching her Hallmark movies. She will leave behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories that will be carried in the hearts of those who knew her. Though her time with us was short, her memory will be cherished forever.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Bobby Newman and Toby Wallace, sister, Doris Gail Bates.

Teresa is survived by her beloved daughter, Rosa Candice Newman; son, Jerry (Mary) Wallace; four sisters: Carmen Williams, Faye (David) Williams, Pamela (Gerald) Chastain, Pat Bates Foster; and many extended family members and friends.
