Susan Bush Denton

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Susan Bush Denton.  She was welcomed in the arms of Jesus, her Savior and King, on September 22, 2024.

Graveside service 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Wilson County Memorial Gardens in Lebanon with Rick Spurgeon officiating.

Born Cornelia Lee Bush on August 26, 1940, in Canton, Ohio, she is the daughter of the late Roland and Cornelia Shafer Bush.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty eight years, William O. “Billy” Denton; two sons, Chris Denton and Jason Denton; son in law, Larry Anderson, and several siblings.

It is hard to sum up your mothers’ life in a paragraph, but I will try.  To know her was to love her and to be loved by her was a true blessing.  Galatians 5: 22-23 tells us “the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, and patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control against such things there is no law.”  Our mother demonstrated this way of living all the days of her life.  She loved fully and completely.  She was a great listener and encourager, always showing unwavering support.  She was a dreamer and so very silly.  Some of our deepest belly laughs were with her.  She gave her children and husband confidence with the way she so freely loved them.  Her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren.  We find comfort in knowing she celebrates in Heaven with our dad and brothers.  Having the assurance of salvation in Jesus Christ takes the sting out of her passing, but it doesn’t lessen our grief in the waiting until we meet again.  We love you so very much, Cathy and Robin.

She is survived by two daughters: Cathy Anderson and Robin (Chris) Webster; daughter in law, Erica Denton; grandchildren: Cameron, Nathan, and Molly Webster, and Emma Pennington; and niece, Deneice (Rick) Spurgeon.
