Ruby Webb Wilson White
Mrs. Ruby Webb Wilson White age 95, a longtime resident of the Tuckers Cross Roads Community passed away February 12, 2025, at Quality Center for Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Smith County, July 29, 1929, one of six children of the late Robert Eddie Webb and Lillian Atwood Webb.
She was a graduate of Smith County High School and attended Johnson’s Business School, in Athens, Georgia. She was united in marriage to Ernest C. Wilson after he finished GI school. He was employed by Robertson Construction Co. in Athens. Ms. Ruby’s employment began as payroll auditor and secretary for Robertson Construction. In 1959, she and Ernie moved to their Tucker’s Cross Roads Community farm. After being saved, she was baptized in the waters of Plunkett’s Creek by Eld. Ted Smith into the fellowship of Knob Spring Missionary Baptist Church in the Hiwassee Community. Following her marriage to Eld. Edgar Leon White in 2001, she moved her membership to Old Paths Missionary Baptist Church in Lebanon where she remained a faithful member until her death. She retired from Hartmann Luggage as Office Manager after thirty-five years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Ernest Campbell Wilson, December 2, 1999; brother, James Webb; three sisters: Mary Bell Winfree, Louise Wilson, Florence Ash; double niece, Linda Wilson; step-son, Randall “Rudy” White.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-three years, Eld. Leon White; brother, Edward (Judith) Webb; ten nephews and five nieces, including two double nephews: Jerry (Ann) Wilson, Don (Pam) Wilson and their sons: Brian Wilson and daughters, Allie, Emma and Ruthie, Matthew Wilson and his son, Kent; two step-grandchildren: Leah White and her daughter, Corleigh, Eli (Jennifer) White and their son, Lane; step-daughter-in-law, Diane White.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, at 1 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home 241 West Main Street, Lebanon with Eld. Jr. Dickerson, Eld. Tim Lohorn and Bro. Frankie Lee Downs officiating. Interment – Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Active Pallbearers: Eli White, Jordan and Danny Key, Eddie Woodard, Tom Bobo, Glen Hollis, Mark Lannom; Honorary Pallbearers: Nephews and Debbie Lannom. Visitation Sunday 1-4 p.m. and Monday 11 a.m. – 1p.m. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Old Paths Missionary Baptist Church.
