Richard Edwin Clark

Richard Edwin Clark, 90, of  Lebanon, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, into the arms of the Lord.

He is predeceased by his wives Joan (Hoffman) Clark and Louise (Hutton) Clark.  He leaves behind his children: Linda Kopit (Cliff) of Palm Harbor, FL, David Clark of Webster, NY, Trish Clark-Mitchell of Cape Coral, FL, Ally Cantrell (Blake) of Lebanon, TN. Grandkids: Patrick Mitchell, Cody Mitchell, Sondra (Kopit) Sheehan and Jacob Campsey. Great-grandkids: Maizey Mitchell, Daisy Mitchell and Julian Sheehan.

Dick was born in Flushing, New York. on September 9, 1933 and grew up in Great Neck, Long Island, NY. He had a childhood shadowed by the great depression and learned at a young age to work hard and enjoy the little things in life. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and worked for the Eastman Kodak company for 40 years, retiring in 1991. He was just getting started. He returned to college taking courses in finance at St. John Fisher College.

He lived and contributed to the town of Ontario, New York. for 62 years before moving to Lebanon, in 2020 to live with his daughter and son-in-law, Ally and Blake. During those 60 plus years he was president or sat on the board of the Ontario Rotary, Ontario Community Chest, Wayne Central School Board, Ontario Planning Board and Zoning Board, Ontario Historical Committee, Republican Committee, Rochester Ski Club and the Rochester YMCA. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ontario Center for over 50 years, serving as an elder as well as in many other rolls. He was the Mayor of Town of Ontario and election commissioner for Wayne County, New York.

He was an avid golfer and downhill skier, enjoying both activities into his 80’s. He will be remembered most for the impact he had on others and his family. Dick Clark leaves behind a legacy of love, leadership, community, friendship and a grateful family.

Services will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 214 Castle Heights Ave., Lebanon at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, July 10, 2024.   Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 9th from 5pm-8pm and Wednesday, July 10th from 11am to noon at Immanuel Baptist Church.
