Paul Wilson Swain

Mr. Paul Wilson Swain age 82 of Gladeville passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, at his home.  Born in Wilson County, TN, September 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Walter Paul Swain and Mary Wilson Robinson Swain.  He was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Hunter, August 17, 1962.  He became a member of the Gladeville Church of Christ when he was seventeen years of age.  He served the church in many capacities.  He served as a deacon, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, youth leader and an elder.

Paul Wilson had several jobs during his working career from driving a milk truck to having his own trucking company and finally retiring from the Metro Nashville Airport Authority.

He loved travelling but was always happy to return home to “The Glade”.

He is survived by his wife of over sixty-two years, Carolyn Hunter Swain; three children:  Lisa (Ken) Quast, Krista (Jeff) Hall, Brian (Diana) Swain; brother, James Edwin (Judy) Swain; six grandchildren:  Wil (Sawyer) Hall, Samuel (Kayla) Quast, Caroline Quast, Walt Hall, Rebecca Quast, Henry Swain; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  The family extends a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Alive Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Darrell Blankenship and Jason Swain officiating.  Interment – Caraway Cemetery in Gladeville, TN.  Active Pallbearers:  Wil Hall, Samuel Quast, Walt Hall, Henry Swain, Jeff Hall, Ken Quast.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Bill Patton, Lauri Daniels, Peyton Baskin, Sandra Rodriguez, Allen Graves, Bob Pruitt, Doug Simms, Pete Hunt.  Visitation Friday 4-7 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
