Patricia Rose Aikens
Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Rose Roberts Aikens, age 76 of Lebanon, will be held on Tuesday February 4, 2025 at 1:00PM from the Barton’s Creek Baptist Church (1530 Barton’s Creek Rd Lebanon, TN 37090) with Pastor Jacob Colwell officiating. Interment will follow in Barton’s Creek Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Church on Tuesday from 11:00AM until service time at 1:00PM. Pallbearers will be: Zack Aikens, Daniel Jones, Billy Aikens, Michael Aikens, John Harper, and Matthew Henderson. Honorary Pallbearers: Kathleen Weaver, Tex and Shirley Barthel, Margaret Wright, Sandy Bumbalough, Guy Dockery, and Col. Jim and Beverly Henderson. Mrs. Aikens passed away on Friday January 31, 2025 at her home.
Mrs. Aikens was bon September 28, 1948 in Lenoir City, Tennessee to the late John Henry Roberts and Mildred Louise Stinnett Roberts. She attended school at Lenoir City High School, but never completed her education there. Mrs. Patricia worked hard and earned her GED from Wilson County Adult High School in Lebanon, TN much later on in her life. She was very proud of this accomplishment, and her diploma was presented to her by country music singer, Charlie Daniels. Mrs. Aiken worked for Hartmann Luggage in Lebanon, where she retired after nearly 30 years when the company closed its doors at the Lebanon, TN Factory. Being idle was never on her list of things she enjoyed, so after her retirement she and her husband Gary Aikens began their own coffee vending supply business “Aroma Express”. Pat became very active at making deliveries and checking in with their loyal customers. Eventually, the couple would close their business to slow down and enjoy retirement. She loved her family, and her church family at Barton’s Creek Baptist Church where she has been an extremely faithful member since the late 1980’s. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters; Joanne Hicks and Evelyn Craig; and brothers, Roy and Ray Roberts.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gary Aikens; daughter, Tammy (Ron) Jones of Hartsville, TN; grandchildren, Zack Aikens, Daniel Jones, of Hartsville, TN, and Brianna (Joe) Brown of Lafayette, TN and several great-grandchildren also survive; sisters, Susie (Jamie) McKee of Lenoir City, TN and Cathy (Stanley) Everett of Kingston, TN.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to be made to the American Heart Association.
