Mary Fisher Smith Hagan
Mrs. Mary Fisher Smith Hagan, age 87, of Columbus, OH passed away on May 17, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Tarver Hagan in 2010. They were married almost 53 years and raised a family of three daughters.
Mary was born on November 6, 1936 in Leeville, TN. She was one of ten children. Mary loved being part of such a large, loving family. Mary met her future husband at Lebanon High School. After their marriage they relocated for a brief time to Santa Monica, CA and then to Columbus, OH.
Mary was a kind, loving person who was generous with her time in helping those around her. Mary chose to stay at home to raise her three daughters through high school. She then worked at the Kroger Deli/Bakery for more than 26 years. Mary loved taking care of her customers and especially liked decorating cakes for special occasions.
Mary is survived by her daughter Michelle Hagan (Steve Hub) of Franklin, TN; daughter Melessa Norcross (Donald) of Columbus, OH; and daughter Teresa Wharton (Charles) of Sunbury, OH. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Phillip (Sarah) Norcross, Angela Norcross, Ben (Kaitlyn) Norcross, Kay (Khristopher) Worden, Kyle Wharton, Mary Wharton, and Ryan Wharton and great-grandchildren: Everett Norcross, Penelope Worden, and Haley Worden Evans. She is survived by siblings Martha Bone (Stratton) and James Smith, her sister in-in-law Charline Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents James Webb Smith and Johnnie Sloan Smith of Leeville, TN; sister Alice (Jack) Little; brother Robert (Mary Katherine) Smith; sister Mayme (Clyde) Wilson; sister Naomi (Melvin) Holland; sister-in-law Shirley Smith; brother Edwin Smith; brother Albert (Nancy Jean) Smith; and sister Nancy (Fred) McMillen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, May 24, 2024 at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon, TN. Interment Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00pm – 6:00pm and Friday from 10:00am to 11:00am at Ligon &Bobo Funeral Home.
