Margaret Rice Ashe

Mrs. Margaret Rice Ashe, age 89 of Lebanon, passed away April 19, 2025 at Alive Hospice Residence in Murfreesboro.  Born in Davidson County, TN, December 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Russell Rice and Minnie Myrtle Davy Rice.  She was a 1955 graduate of Goodlettsville High School and was a member of the Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  She retired from TRW Ross Gear where she worked in the office and blueprinting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Delano Ashe in 1980.  Survivors include two daughters:  Angela (Silas) Vastola, Annette (Jeff) Tomerlin; step-son, John (Debbie) Ashe; four grandchildren:  Adam (Mallory) Maxwell, Austin Maxwell, Savannah (Madison) Cox, Cody Tomerlin; four great-grandchildren:  Grace Ann, Marshall, Mary Alice and Charlie Maxwell.  Special thanks to Home Instead and Alive Hospice Murfreesboro for their care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 1 p.m. from the Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 522 Castle Heights Avenue, Lebanon, with Bro. Kevin Medlin officiating.  Interment – Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers:  Jeff and Cody Tomerlin, Silas Vastola, Adam and Austin Maxwell, Nathan Kolbe.  Visitation Tuesday 3-7p.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and Wednesday 11 a.m. until service time at Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

As a lifelong friend of my parents, Bill and Boby Garrett, I heard her name often throughout my life. We always looked forward to our visits with her on our trips to TN in recent years.
