John Robert “K.C.” Lackey

Funeral service for Mr. John Robert “K.C.” Lackey will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2025, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Tom Grant and Bro. Todd Lackey officiating.  Visitation Friday 10 AM until service.

Mr. Lackey, age 70 of Carthage passed away May 12, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.

Born May 17, 1954, in Wilson County, he is the son of the late Earl Thomas “Monk” Lackey and Emma Lou Shelton Lackey.  He was raised by his uncle and aunt, the late Charlie and Fannie Lackey.  He was an electrician and owned and operated R & S Plumbing & Electric.  He attended Full Gospel Tabernacle.  He loved to play softball, pool, and the guitar.  In addition to his parents and uncle and aunt, he was preceded in death by companion, Patsy Christian Lackey; a sister, Vivian Lackey; and brothers, James Red Lackey, William Earl Lackey, and Allen Dinky Lackey.

He is survived by four children: Angela Nejo, Rodney Rogers, Mindy Enos, and Robert Lee Lackey; two step children: Jacob (Laura) Wright and Rachel Wright (Roger Carpenter); sister, Betsy Davis; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    It’s really hard to believe how fast God works sometimes. You came over several times after I lost Mike. It was a blessing from God when I felt I was so alone. I love you and please let all our family how much I miss them. We will all meet again in God’s plan

    We met Robert at Ebel’s. He always talked to us about cars, music, & his family. He was a very nice man. I can’t believe he is gone so suddenly.
