Joe Donnel Cummings

Mr. Joe Donnel Cummings, age 68 of San Pedro CA, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024 after a very short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born September 4, 1956, in Statesville TN. His is the son of the late Howard Houston Cummings & Allie Lee Tarpley Cummings, grandson of the late Grimmitt & Ruby Cummings & Gus & Altie Mae Tarpley of Statesville TN. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined Immanuel Baptist Church in 1967. He was a 1974 graduate of Lebanon High School. After graduation, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Long Beach State University. On June 4, 1977, he married the love of his life, Maria Azzara Cummings of Los Angeles CA.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 15th at Immanuel Baptist Church from 1p-3p with the Celebration of Life Service at 3p. Bro. Darrin Reynolds, Pastor Jeff Pratt & Jason Hobbs officiating.

He loved his family and was a hero to his numerous nieces & nephews. His trips to TN were exciting and full of love & laughter. We will miss his visits and  phone conversations, especially during the holidays.

His is survived by the love of his life of forty seven years, Maria Azzara Cummings; siblings. Judy (Mike) Cox, James (Cindy) Cummings and Joyce (Charles/Abe) Cummings Reeves; Nieces & Nephews, Medana (Greg) Hemontolor, Jason (Phyllis) Hobbs, Deborah (Ronnie) Henderson, April (Wayne) Oakley, Tina Reeves, Kim (Kevin) Sandlin, Jimmy Joe Cummings, Lori (Gilbert) Diaz, Gina (Jeff) Manning, Al Amato, Vince &AJ Amato, Marissa, Emily &Jeffrey Manning. Great nieces & nephews, Evan (Alex) Hemontolor, Grayson Hemontolor, Ashley &Samantha Hobbs, Max &Levi Henderson, Deshae &Anya Oakley, Nikki (Terry) Turner, Meagan (Zach) Wilburn, Madison Sandlin, Hendrix &Dylan Cummings, Great Great nieces & nephews, Dallas & Kennedy Turner, Gentry Blayke & Blaine Archer Wilburn, Isla, Iris, Liam Pierce, Marissa & Taylor Hess. Numerous aunts, uncles & cousins in surrounding counties.
