Jerry Lewis Caldwell

Funeral service for Mr. Jerry Lewis Caldwell will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Tyler Gaulden and Bro. Joshua Wallace officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation Tuesday 3-7 PM and Wednesday after 11 AM at Ligon & Bobo.

Mr. Caldwell, age 79 of Lebanon passed away August 31, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Born December 12, 1944, in Bluefield, Virginia, he is the son of the late Jesse Lewis Caldwell and Maggie Ellen Hughes Caldwell.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He retired from Bridgestone where he worked as a machinist, and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Tibbs.

He is survived by his wife of fifty eight years, Betty Lynn Morgan Caldwell; two sons, Stephen (Paige) Caldwell and Jonathan Caldwell; two grandchildren: Jana Lynn Caldwell (Chris) Duncan and Rebecca Leighann Caldwell; and three great grandchildren: Caylee Mae Duncan, Jo Jo Duncan, and John Cade-Duncan.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

    His plan of salvation though the acceptance of His son as the only pure and holy blood sacrifice. Jerry exemplified a true follower of Christ. He was an encourager and a supreme example of a devoted Christian husband.
