Hamlet Grissim “Hambone” Halbert
Mr. Hamlet Grissim “Hambone” Halbert age 92 of the Taylorsville Community passed away December 5, 2025, at Quality Center. Born March 28, 1933, in the Taylorsville Community in the same house where he made his home for almost all of his life. He was a 1952 graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He retired from Ross Gear TRW after twenty-six years of service and was a life-long farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. Halbert and Mary Elizabeth Grissim Halbert; wife, Linda Ann Rowe Halbert; son, Jason Rex Halbert; five sisters: Mary Sue Bland, Emile Manning, Jean Reasonover, Clara Ingram, Ruth Namnoum; five brothers: James Kai, Hays, Tommy, John, and Robert Halbert.
Survivors include three children: Tim (Courtney) Halbert, Tom Halbert, Beth (Kirk) Pulley; five grandchildren: Hailey and Tyler Halbert and their mother Tina, Kai Halbert, Levi and Seth Pulley.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 1 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon, with Rev. Rebecca Gwynn-Dixon and Rev. David Hesson officiating. Interment with Military Honors – Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Tommy, Bob, Pat, Kai, and Tyler Halbert, Levi, Seth, and Kirk Pulley, Andy Willis. Visitation Tuesday 3-7 p.m. and Wednesday after 11 a.m. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Wilson County Veterans Museum.
