Elsie Hall Arnett

Mrs. Elsie Hall Arnett entered her eternal rest on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 9:29 PM at the age of 96. Elsie was born April 6, 1928 in Shannon, MS to Beatrice Waters Hall. At the age of twenty, while attending a Bible Study in Tupelo, Elsie met Melvin Arnett. They married a year later, on October 19, 1949. Two years later they were blessed with the birth of twins, Mark and Melinda, and two and a half years later Marsha was born. They had moved to Lebanon with Melvin’s work. They became members of First Baptist Church Lebanon where Elsie taught first grade Sunday School for over 30 years. She led a life of service to her family and the community. She loved reading, craft club, FCE club and traveling with Melvin and the WB&T Solid Gold Club. She also loved yard sales and antique auctions. Elsie led a blessed life and was a blessing to those who knew her. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, but we know she is now with her heavenly Father.

Besides her mother and father, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 55 years, Melvin Arnett, her sister, Wilma Hall and brothers, Herbert and Harold Hall.

Elsie is survived by her children Mark and Patty Arnett of Nashville, TN, Melinda Arnett of Nashville, TN, Marsha and Mike Johnston of Cookeville, TN, grandsons Christopher and Amber Arnett of Mt. Juliet, TN and Matthew Johnston of Johnson City, TN and great grandchildren Baker Hayes Arnett and Marlow Kate Arnett of Mt. Juliet, TN and sister’s in law, Jonell Hall of Plantersville, MS and Bobbie Hall of Okolona, MS and several nieces and nephews.
