Creola Norris Minter

Mrs. Creola Norris Minter, age 83 of Lebanon, passed away peacefully January 27, 2025 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family.  A native of Cumberland County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Casto Norris and Florence Wyatt Norris.  She was a 1960 graduate of Cumberland County High School.  Early in her working career she worked as a secretary in a factory and in banking.  After marrying she was a homemaker and a stay-at-home mom doing what she loved best, raising her daughters and keeping her grandchildren.  She was raised in the Newton Church of Christ in Cumberland County and currently attended the Adams Avenue Church of Christ in Lebanon.  Though she enjoyed living in Lebanon, she often referred to Cumberland County as “home”.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Moses Norris; three sisters:  Evelyn Cole, Thelma Dodson, and Wilma Tabor.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Richard H. Minter; two daughters:  Lisa (Marty) Kelley, Lori Minter; four grandchildren:  Justin Kelley, Austin (Courtney) Cohea, Amber (Hunter) Pryer, Rebecca (Paul) Styers; three great-grandchildren:  Grayson and Case Cohea, Landry Pryer; two sisters: Margaret Turner, Janice Bayless; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 1 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Lebanon with Stan Stevenson officiating.  A private burial will be held at a later date in the Newton Cemetery No. 1 in Cumberland County.  Visitation Saturday 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Gentiva Hospice.
