Zuelma Hazel Simpson Goodall
Mrs. Zuelma Hazel Simpson Goodall, age 94 of Lebanon and formerly of Greeneville, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014.
She was born to the late William and Anna Simpson on May 9, 1920 in Tusculum, TN. Zuelma graduated from Doak High School in 1938. She married the late Walter Goodall in 1955. They lived in Pulaski a few years before relocating to Walter’s hometown of Lebanon. They were married 57 years.
Zuelma was actively involved in the Doak Home Demonstration Club and the Greene County Agricultural Fair, competing and winning multiple awards over the years she lived in Tusculum. She was also selected Doak HDC Woman of the Year. In receiving this honor, she was recognized as a fine seamstress, a noted authority on African Violets, a rug maker and as a volunteer to her community and church.
Once she married Walter and moved to Lebanon, her devotion to her family took precedence. She invested her creative and talented energy in providing a nice home for her family. One of her great joys was sewing for her daughters. Zuelma also enjoyed quilting and gardening. Her example of hard work done with excellence will be remembered as one of her finest qualities.
Zuelma was a longtime member of the Highland Heights Church of Christ.
She is survived by three daughters: Barbara (Tony) Bellione, Mary (Ritchie) Beard and Martha (Ronnie) Norman; grandchildren, Carrie (Eric) Garcia, John (Sara Beth) Farrow, Benjamin Webb, Mary Beth (Ryan) Davis, James (Jennifer) Farrow, Ryan (Kathryn) Norman, Ritchie (Ashleigh) Beard and Lindsay Beard; great grandchildren, Jackson Davis, Benjamin Davis, James Norman, Sienna Garcia, Ruby Davis, Jude Norman, William Farrow and Naomi Garcia; and her sister, Margaret Gaut.
A private family service will be held in Greeneville, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Alive Hospice or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
