William Thatcher Ligon

Funeral services for William Thatcher Ligon, infant son of Amie and Jason Ligon, will be held on Thursday evening January 24, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. from the chapel of Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. Bro. Jason Mull will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Thursday January 24, 2019 from 4 until 7pm at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. A private family burial will take place on Friday at Barton’s Creek Cemetery.

Thatcher was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather; Jimmy Carter Shaw of Lafayette, maternal great grandparents; Clyde Johnson, and Mr. & Mrs. Truman Shaw of Lafayette; and paternal great grandparents, Edward Allen and Jewel Bennett of Lebanon.

He is survived by his parents; Jason and Amie Ligon of Lebanon, maternal grandmother; Clydette Shaw of Lafayette; paternal grandparents; Wayne and Linda Ligon of Lebanon; maternal great grandmother; Mrs. Frances Johnson of Lafayette; paternal great grandparents; Bennie and Ernesteen Ligon of Lebanon; aunts and uncles; Adam and Brittany Shaw of Lafayette, and Brent and Courtney Ligon Reece of Lebanon. He also leaves behind a host of cousins and extended family and friends.

His parents would like to extend a heart-felt Thank You to the multitude of friends and family who have reached out to them in this difficult time. Thatcher may have never had an opportunity to meet any of us in this world, but for such a tiny little boy, his impact on the ones around us and the joy he has already brought to us is immeasurable. We would also like to thank everyone for the prayers, calls, messages, emails, and overwhelming display of the love of Jesus that has been shown to us over the last several days. Our hearts are heavy and broken for the loss we have endured, but our faith is in our Lord Jesus Christ who has conquered death and the grave and we know without a shadow of a doubt that we will, one day, be reunited with our precious baby boy.

The family would also like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital 3rd Floor Labor and Delivery, for their kindness and loving care that was given to us.

Memorial contributions may be made in the form of Gideon Bibles, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
