Walter “Butch” Harmon

securedownloadFuneral services for Mr. Walter “Butch” Harmon will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Bro. Glenn Denton and Bro. Mike Shelby officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Visitation Wednesday 2-8 PM at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and Thursday after 10 AM at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Mr. Harmon, age 71 of Lebanon passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, at his home.

Born December 8, 1942, in Wilson County, he is the son of the late Marion Dudley Harmon and Maggie Pauline Boykin Harmon.  He was a 1960 graduate of Lebanon High School, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army.  He retired from the Lebanon Post Office with over thirty years’ service.  He then worked at the Nashville Super Speedway for eleven years.  He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant sisters, Carolyn Boyd Harmon and Bessie Sue Harmon.

He is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Lynda Ratliff Harmon; three children, Gordon Stacy (Vickie) Harmon of Nashville; Tanya Lyn (Bruce) Wolf of Black Hawk, SD; and Thomas B. (Christina) Harmon of Lebanon; and three grandchildren, C. J., Jimmy and Madeline.
