Mrs. Virginia Lee Bates Meadows age 92 of Lebanon passed away November 15, 2017. A homemaker, she was a member of the Nonaville Road Church of Christ and attended Maple Hill Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph Grayson Bates and Ruth Lawrence Booker Bates; husband, Garland Meadows; sons: Tony Wesley and Walter Heckman; step-sons: Edwin and Dan Meadows; brother, Verner Bates; sisters: Lucy and Betty Sue Bates.

Survived by two sons: Grayson (Debbie) Heckman, Tim (Melissa) Meadows; step-son, Steve (Barbara Jean) Meadows; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Kenny George and Randy Spurlock officiating. Interment – Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation Friday 2-8 p.m. and Saturday after 9 a.m.

Our family friendships go back a long way. At one time we all lived on Bates Road….named for your family. I believe your Mom is the last of that generation who lived on Bates Road. We are very sorry for your loss and please know we are all thinking about your family. We loved Jenny Lee.
