img005Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Potts Scantland will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Gordon Lee and Bro. Paul Nolen officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Visitation Friday 2-8 PM and Saturday after 11 AM at Ligon & Bobo.

Mrs. Scantland, age 69 of Lebanon passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

Born March 21, 1946, in Rutherford County, she is the daughter of the late Oliver and Novella Smith Potts.  She was a machine operator at Hartmann Luggage for many years and was a member of the Church of God Worship and Ministry Center.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randall Ray Scantland; brother, Terry Potts; and three sisters, Virginia Pierce, Margaret Hall, and Kay Duncan.

She is survived by her husband of fifty three years, Ray Scantland; two children, Lisa (Randy) Dies and Greg (Rachel) Scantland; four grandchildren, Jacob & Jacee Dies and Jackson and Noah Scantland; three sisters, Becky Sloan, Sandra Humes, and Kathy Harris; and six brothers, Elton, Roger, Steve, Tommy, Eugene, and Paul Potts.
