Mr. Hemontolor, age 69, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017, at the Alive Hospice Residence in Murfreesboro.

Born October 19, 1948, in Wilson County, he is the son of the late Hobart Lee and Elizabeth Holman Hemontolor. For many years he farmed, and he also cut and sold timber and hay.  He retired from the Lebanon Post Office after forty two years, where he had worked as a rural carrier and last as route supervisor.  He grew up in Cedar Grove Baptist Church, later moving his membership to Cedar Creek Baptist Church and last to Immanuel Baptist Church.  He was very active in all these churches, serving as song leader, Sunday school director, deacon, worked with the youth and bus ministry, and sang in the choir.  He was also very active with the National Rural Letter Carriers Association, serving in many leadership roles including State President.  His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his four grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Peggy Hall Hemontolor who he married on August 19, 1967; two children, Greg (Medana) Hemontolor and Melani (David) Brooks; four grandsons, Evan Hemontolor, Grayson Hemontolor, Adam Brooks, and John Brooks; brother, Eugene (Jeraldine) Graves; sister, Valerie Martin; several nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers: Joe Wright, John Porter, Randall Keith, Dean Nuss, Dennis Tate, Linda Phillips, Dave Gordon, Earl Vantrease, Larry Bay, Jack Cantrell, and all former and present employees of the Lebanon Post Office.

Active pallbearers: Greg, Evan & Grayson Hemontolor, David, Adam & John Brooks.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Cecilia Theobald at Vanderbilt Medical Center; the nurses and staff members of Fresenius Medical Care in Lebanon; the doctors and staff at Sumner Regional Wound Care; and the staff of Alive Hospice Residence in Murfreesboro.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to Samaritans Purse.
