Terrijean Eatherly Crowell

Mrs. Terrijean Eatherly Crowell passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 22, 2018 at age 88 after a short illness. Terrijean is preceded in death by her parents, Terry H. and Frances Johnson Eatherly, her sisters, Mary Porter Waters, Rachel Kehler and Timothy Dail, her husband, Gentry Crowell, and her daughter-in-law, Nanette Crowell.

She is survived by her children, Melissa Anne Crowell Law (Walter), Brooks Eatherly Crowell, and Christopher Gentry Crowell (Amanda), grandchildren Eric Brooks Crowell, Rachel Law Scarbrough (Tim), Martha Eatherly Law (Ana), Maggie Rose Crowell, and Ethan Gentry Crowell, and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Grace Scarbrough, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Terrijean was the daughter of Terry H. Eatherly who was instrumental in the formation of the Middle Tennessee Electric Cooperative and a leader in the community. She graduated from Lebanon High School and Virginia Intermont College.  She was married to Gentry Crowell who served in the State Legislature and was Secretary of the State of Tennessee from 1977 until 1989.  She was active and served in leadership roles at Lebanon First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School class and Ruth Group and was a chancel choir member for more than fifty years.  Terrijean was also a long time member of the Christian Women’s Club, Village Women’s Club, Friends of the Library, and the board of the Cumberland Mental Health Center.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a life long follower of Jesus Christ, her Savior.

Visitation Friday, October 26, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon and on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from Noon to 2 PM at Lebanon First United Methodist Church. A service will follow at the church at 2 PM.  Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Bill Waters, Fred Adams, Joe Adams, George Kehler, Eric Crowell, and Ethan Crowell.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Lebanon First United Methodist Church.
