   I am so saddened to hear this. Mr. Pennington was our Pastor at Coalmont UMC when I was younger. I also had the good fortune of having him as a teacher at Coalmont Elementary. It was a great honor to have a Godly person as a role model.

   He was my principal in elementary school and my pastor for awhile. Then, I had the pleasure of teaching with him at North Elementary and Tracy City. He was one of the kindest and most genuine persons I have ever known. I hope the family is comforted by wonderful memories.

   I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Pennington was my homeroom teacher all 4 years of high school. He was such a sweet and kind man.

   Brother Pennington was leading Coalmont UMC the day I was saved. He baptized me shortly after on Easter. A great Christian man. You should be extremely proud of the life he lived. Bless your family.

    My mom and I were saddened to hear of your dad’s passing. My dad was Rev. Ed Spiva and I know they were friends at Martin and in the Tennessee Conference. Praise God for the life of a man who served Him well!

    Rest In Peace my friend. Jane and Jeff you know how much I thought of your Dad. As my pastor and teaching with him. In our talks he was always telling me things you two would do. He loved you so much.

I have a dear friend, almost 91, that says she thanks God for every day he wakes her to see another sunrise and even the day he doesn’t, she is a winner either way. Your Dad is a winner.
