Raymond Parker

parkerMr. Raymond Parker age 89 of Gladeville died September 24, 2016, at his home.  A native of Wilson County, he was the son of the late Virgil and Elzula Lannom Parker.  He graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in 1945 and was a member of the Gladeville Church of Christ.  He retired from McLean Trucking Company and was a life-long farmer.  He was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and Willie Rhea Sanders.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Nancy “Babbs” Foster Parker; three children:  Sherri (Wayne) Etheridge, Gary “Spud” (Jan) Parker, Kathy (Kenny) Risner; two grandchildren:  Alicia (Daniel) Donaldson, Courtney (Matthew) Patterson; four great-grandchildren:  Parker and Maggie Donaldson, Jaycee and Asher Patterson; two brothers-in-law:  Wayne (Carolyn) Foster, Eddie (Marlene) Foster; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. from the Gladeville Church of Christ with Bro. Bill Speight and Bro. Bob Jared officiating.  Interment – Caraway Cemetery.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Al Cook, Ernest Sanders, Mark Bigby, Fred Johnson, Steve Thompson; Active Pallbearers:  Ricky Sanders, Peyton Baskin, Randy Savage, John and Chuck Foster, Jackie McDole.  Visitation Sunday 3-7 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and Monday after 10 a.m. at the Gladeville Church of Christ.

      Mrs Parker and family Bill and I were sorry to hear of the death of Raymond Bill, my husband worked with Raymond for many years at McLean and considered Raymond Just know that Jesus has opened those pearly gates and ushered Raymond in may the Lord be with your family or the weeks to come to give you comfort and peace.
