Raymond Dobson Evans

Fiddlers Grove muleMr. Raymond Dobson Evans age 84 of Lebanon passed away July 20, 2014. Mr. Evans sold vegetables for over 25 years at Nashville area churches as part of Food Fairs. He was a member of Gladeville United Methodist Church. Survived by two daughters, Julie (David) Walker and Katie (Hunter) Henson, two sons Ray (Linda) Evans and Haskell (Tonya) Evans; grandchildren Trey, Cody and Lexi Walker; Evan and Emma Henson; Cory and Ethan Evans; Wyatt and Christine Evans; one brother, Joe Evans. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Lassiter Evans and brothers  Jim and Noel Evans. Mr. Evans was born on October 27, 1929 in Gladeville to the late Judge Turner and Neva Evans. Mr. Evans donated his body to Vanderbilt University Medical School. A memorial service will be held at Gladeville United Methodist Church, 8770 Stewarts Ferry Pike, Gladeville 4 pm, Sunday, July 27, 2014. Visitation with the family will be at the church 2 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wilson County Agricultural Hall of Fame, Attn: Diane Major, 925 East Baddour Parkway, Lebanon, TN 37087 or to Mt. Juliet Middle School FFA, Attn: Ray Evans, 3565 North Mt. Juliet Road, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.

    If this is the man Gladeville called “Bum” Dobson,I truly respected this man. Used to “tromp” silage for him on his farm on Stewarts Pike when I lived on my Uncles Farm down the road.
