Leon Nixon Denney

leon denneyMr. Leon Nixon Denney age 85 of the Vine Community in Lebanon died January 12, 2016, at Quality Health Care.  A native of Wilson County, he was the son of the late H.R. Denney and Robbie Barrett Denney.  He was a member of the Vine Church of Christ.  He was a 1948 graduate of Lebanon High School.  He was a life-long farmer and logger.  He served on the Board of Directors of Middle Tennessee Electric.    He was preceded in death by two brothers:  Eugene and Ralph Denney.

Survived by two sons:  William Henry (Barbara) Denney, David Nixon (Brenda) Denney; grandson, Joseph Daniel (Joey) Denney; great-grandchildren:  Cole and Zane Denney; mother of his children, Carolyn Lannom Denney; cousin, Margorie Barrett Stone.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016, at 11 a.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Bobo Funeral Home with Randy Ward officiating.  Interment – Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers:  Roy, Randy and Joe Denney, Ralph Mallicoat, James Martin Edwards, Charlie Butler, John and Scott Major.  Special thanks to Dr. Roger McKinney and the staff of Quality Health Care.  Memorial contributions may be made to College Street Fellowship House.  Visitation Friday 3-8 p.m. and Saturday after 10 a.m.
