Mr. Johnny Raymond Burton age 82 of Lebanon passed away peacefully at his home December 22, 2018. He was born in Wilson County to the late Henry Austin Burton and Gussie Lou Wilkerson Burton.  He was a faithful member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.  He retired from the Castner Knott Co. Shipping and Receiving Department after forty one years of service.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Effie May Burton; brother, Walter Burton; son-in-law, Gary Lee Bogle Sr., and a grandson, Daniel Lee Bogle.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Jean Marie Boston Burton; four children:  Donna Jean Bogle, Johnny Darrell “J. D.” (Vickie) Burton, Wm. Raymond Burton, James Dwight Burton; sister, Mary Burton LeVan; eight grandchildren:  Jason (Jennie) Burton, Austin (Amber) Burton, Chris (Melissa) Burton, Kevin (Jennifer) Burton, Gary Lee Bogle Jr., April Nicole Bogle, Jessica Dawn Burton, Jacqueline Danielle Burton; two step-grandchildren:  James Joshua (Crystal) Martin, Glenn Alan (Crissy) Woods; sixteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 1 p.m. from the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers:  fellow Sunday School Class members, members and deacons of Cedar Creek, John Wrye, Max Campbell, Regan McDonald, Chuck McCrary, Tom Brewster, his devoted niece Jane Caroline Chaffin.  Active pallbearers:  Jason Burton, Austin Burton, Gary Lee Bogle Jr., Josh Martin, Glenn Woods, Charles McCrary.  Visitation Friday 3-7 p.m. and Saturday after 11 a.m.
