James David “Jim” Franklin

James David “Jim” Franklin, age 66 of Lebanon, died July 6, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Born in Knoxville, TN, he was the son of the late Hubert Denver Franklin and Cecile Finnerty Franklin.  A minister of the Christian Church, he graduated from Roanoke Bible College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.  He attended College Hills Church of Christ.  He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and at the age of sixty, learned to play the banjo.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Finnerty. He is survived by wife of 45 years, Beth Baboryk Franklin; three children:  James Scott (Tyler Postma-Franklin) Franklin, Beth Rose (Joshua) Goin, Coral Lee (Russell) Leonard; eight grandchildren:  Ezekiel, Etana, Coralily, Solomon, and Abraham Goin, Katie and Russell James Leonard, and Estelle Postma-Franklin; brother, Denver (Laura) Franklin; three sisters:  Shelia (Jim) Marcusky, Sheena Lang, Annie (Jim) Banhidy.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 10, 2017, at 6 p.m. at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Byron Paddock officiating. Visitation Monday 4-6 p.m.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to College Hills Church of Christ.
