Harry A. Goot

Funeral services for Mr. Harry A. Goot will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 25, 2018, in the Bryant Chapel of First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hesson officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.  Visitation Friday 3-7 PM at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and Saturday after 10 AM at the church.  There will be a Masonic Service 6:30 PM Friday at Ligon & Bobo.

Mr. Goot, age 92 of Lebanon passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at his home.

Born June 11, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois, he is the son of the late Harry A. and Ruth Lancaster Goot. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.  He worked in dry cleaning for over forty years, being the former owner of Kleen Way Cleaners for over thirty years.  He was a member of the Lebanon Masonic Lodge #18 F&AM, and the First United Methodist Church since he was twelve years old.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Modene Harel Goot in 1992; and a step son, William Bruce Childress.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Martin Goot; daughter, Patricia Ann (Ivo) Dillon; two grandchildren, Mark Anthony (Rhonda) Helton and Tammy Renee (Michael) Moore; great grandchildren, Devin Chase Moore and Luke Helton; two step daughters, Nora Ruth Jacobs and Michelle Lee (Tommy) Smith; step grandchildren, Daniel Thomas Smith, Andrew Lee Smith, Christopher Sears, Christy Marlin (Phillip), Travis Childress, and Shannon Childress.
